Youths have been told that their economic future is very shaky at best. Yesterdays' jobs and economic opportunities are not there anymore. Our educational institutions profess this message constantly to youths. I remember my orientation class at university that made the following hypothesis ; university studies are not a guarantee for economic prosperity. Most young graduates are either on unemployment insurance or have jobs that do not suit their interest or their field of studies. What is the reaction of youths towards this bleak forecast? Surprisingly, youths are hopeful.
In general, we are not optimistic towards our economic future. We prefer to adopt a more realistic approach. However, this does not mean that we do not dream of better days. Nevertheless, our dreams are more conservative. We dream of a job we love and a stable financial life. Baby boomers dreamed to reach the moon. We dream to have a small place on earth.
